Clovis Keeps His Cool
by Katelyn Aronson illustrated by Eve Farb Clovis is a bull with an awful temper. He is learning to control it with deep breaths, soothing tea, and wise words from his beloved late granny: "Grace, grace. Nothing broken to replace." His new job is to run granny's old china shop and this puts him at peace. Things get hard for Clovis when bullies from his football days make fun of him at the shop. With each passing day, Clovis faces the big challenge of keeping his cool or giving in to his temper. Will he destroy everything he loves in a fit of anger? The amazing cover captured our interest before anything else was viewed about the book. The illustrations are beautifully rendered by Eve Farb. She delightfully captures the many expressions of the story and each character. Katelyn Aronson has written an encouraging story of keeping calm, learning from our mistakes and the importance of second chances. These are things we can all relate to and learn from. Clovis Keeps His Cool is a book that we will pull from our personal library to read time and time again. The message is timeless and the colorful illustrations are a delight! We highly recommend this wonderful book for your library, too!
